Vinum, Efe Radio and Telemadrid win the 7th 'El Cava' Journalism Prize
Vinum, Efe Radio and Telemadrid are the winners of the 7th 'El Cava' Journalism Prize in the categories of printed media, radio and television, respectively. Cinema director José Luis Garci, writer Javier Moro, diplomat Inocencio Arias and journalists Nativel Preciado and María Escario integrated the jury that selected the winners of the prize created by the Cava Regulatory Board in order to award the support given by the media to the cava industry.
Within the printed media category, the jury decided to award the prize to the story titled 'El Panorama del Cava' writen by journalist Bartolomé Sánchez for the Vinum magazine in November 2010. In the radio category, the prize was awarded to Juan Carlos Molero Serrano and Juan Cimarra Moraleda for their story 'Paladar y Tomar: El Cava', broadcasted by Efe Radio on 31th January 2011. Finally, in the TV category, Begoña Tormo was awarded the prize for her story about cava broadcasted on 9th December 2011 in the program 'Buenos Días Madrid' of TV channel Telemadrid.
Since its first edition 'El Cava' Journalism Prize has acknowledged the support of media to this sparkling wine with a cash prize of 12,000 euros in each category. The prize is open to works published or broadcasted in any media during the period between February 2008 and January 2010. Candidate works had to be submitted to the Cava Regulatory Board headquarters before 28th February 2010.
In 6th edition, celebrated in 2010, the jury was composed of writers Antonio Gala and Joaquín Leguina, actor Arturo Fernández and journalists Rosa Mª Calaf and Pilar Cernuda. The prize was awarded to the special supplement 'Ici, aussi, il y a des bulles*' by Fréderic Galtier, published by the Belgian magazine VinoMagazine. In the radio category the prize was awarded to Karmen Garrido for the supplement 'El Cava', broadcasted by Radio Exterior de España, while in the TV category the prize was for 'Buenos días Madrid', broadcasted by Telemadrid.
