The winner of the 4th International Contest of Spanish Haute Cuisine organized by ICEX, Ivan Berezutskiy, was sworn Young Member of Merit of the Cava Brotherhood on 15th October at the brotherhood's site in Torre Ramona (Subirats, Sant Sadurni d'Anoia). The Cava Regulatory Board and the young members, in collaboration with ICEX, rewarded this young Russian chef with a gastronomy travel to Catalonia and the merit title.

The young Russian chef won the last edition of the ICEX contest, in which every one of the contenders had to create a recipe including flavours and techniques acquired during their training period in some of the best restaurants in Spain. In addition to the winer, two second prizes were awarded to Daiki Kanai, from Japan, and Cheong Thin Tan, from Singapore.

During the ceremony, hosted by Carlos Jiménez, several other young members of merit were sworn, such as DJ Javi Mula, the TV3 journalist Ana Boades, the winner of the Nariz de Oro 2011 award, Montse Velasco, the chef of Gresca restaurant Rafael Peña, the sommelier at Moments restaurant Judith Cercós and the gastronomy journalist Ana Riera, of El Periódico.

After the ceremony and the gala dinner, a new edition of the I Love Cava party was held in Sant Cugat del Valles (Barcelona).

The Young Cava Brotherhood was created in 1985 with the support of the Cava Brotherhood with the aim of promoting cava and its culture among youngsters. Currently it is the only wine brotherhood formed by people aged between 18 and 30 years old in the world.
