The Cava Regulatory Board recognizes the 2009 vintage as 'very good'
The tasting committee from the Cava Regulatory Board, after studying the 2009 wine vintage, has unanimously decided to suggest the Regulatory Board*s Plenum to qualify it as 'very good'.
From a total of 168.7 million liters qualified, 151.8 have been white wine and 16.8 rosé wine. 2.7 million liters have not reached the qualification required levels. The whole process has last five months, from late October to April.
The tasting committee has valued the analytic data of all type of wines that were presented for the qualification, their taste rating and also the evolution and behavior that they showed.

Sales of cava rise above 219 million bottles in 2009
Cava producers sold 88 million bottles in Spain in 2009, a decrease of 0.9% with regard to 2008. Sales in the foreign market were 131 million bottles, 5.5% less than in 2008.
